Exhibitions in Essen, Germany for Horses

Essen is one of Germany’s most active hubs for the horses industry as it’s where Equitana takes place over the course of a week every single year. The 2023 edition demonstrated why it’s called the leading event for the equestrian industry in Europe as it attracted over 600 exhibitors and 112,000 visitors. The event showcased the latest innovations, brands, and trends in equestrian sports. Equitana stays in step with the times by launching the Sustainability Village, highlighting the growing importance of sustainability in equestrian sports. The focus on local products, short supply chains, and a reduced carbon footprint deeply resonated with attendees, particularly in an industry where textiles, leather, and equipment play such a significant role. Olympic eventing champion Ingrid Klimke was among the high-profile attendees, emphasizing the importance of events like Equitana for fostering connections within the industry. Equitana is where the general public and aspiring riders can meet with the successes of the equestrian world, who are also on the lookout for new knowledge and products. Klimke highlighted her interest in solariums and safety waistcoats, two innovative products she explored in depth this year. Uta Gräf, renowned dressage rider, expresses enthusiasm for all the riding styles and disciplines up close. The Hop Top Show, a signature feature of Equitana, was a particular highlight, with three sold-out evenings captivating audiences with the visually stunning Mosaique performance. Gräf, like many others, sees the event as an opportunity to stay informed on the latest industry trends and developments. Markus Döring, Co-Federal Coach for Jumping, echoed the sentiment, stating that the event is a must-see for equestrian professionals. He shared how Equitana has become a family tradition, as he and his son enjoy the shows together. Döring also emphasised the value of discovering innovative training methods and products.
