Exhibitions in Essen, Germany for Power & Energy

The power and energy industry in Essen receives significant international attention from the SHK+E ESSEN trade fair, which covers advancements in the sanitation, heating, air conditioning, and electrical engineering sectors. Industry professionals across Western Germany, BeNeLux, and France gather to forge new paths forwards in sustainable living and energy efficiency. Celebrating 50 years, the 2024 edition introduced a new focus on the energy sector of electrical engineering. The addition of 'E' for energy underscores the growing importance of electrical engineering in the context of sector coupling. As energy demands evolve, so does the need for integrated solutions that combine various technologies to enhance efficiency and sustainability. This year’s trade fair highlighted advancements in battery storage, photovoltaics, wall boxes, and inverters, marking a pivotal shift towards a more interconnected and energy-efficient future. The event garnered significant attention, especially from the heating sector, with the Federal Association of the German Heating Industry partnering for the fair. The law allows for a wide range of heating technology solutions and SHK+E offered an ideal platform for the western German HVAC trade to find out about the range of solutions and related topics such as the new funding framework. One of the standout themes of the fair was the integration of electricity and heating systems, encapsulated in the slogan, “Fully connected: electricity and heat in a single system.” This integration is crucial for increasing homeowners’ independence from public electricity supplies and for alleviating grid loads during peak times. Electricity storage systems and charging stations were the stars of the curated showcase, though the product lineup also extended to heat pumps and photovoltaics. Through this new addition to the trade fair, Essen firmly cements its position within the power and energy industry. One of the newest products to debut within this new product segment is the Viessmann Invisible climate system, which recently won the iF Design Award 2024.
