Exhibitions in Istanbul, Turkey for Food & Drink

Istanbul is naturally one of the biggest and most industrious centres for food manufacturing in the country. Istanbul’s food and drinks industry enjoys high activity and is home to multiple high-level trade fairs. It’s only natural that it’s home to Turkey’s most important associations within the sector. Founded in 1961, the Turkish Food & Beverage Industry Association (TÜGİS) has played a pivotal role in shaping Istanbul’s dynamic food sector landscape. As a member of the Turkish Employers Confederation (TİSK), TÜGİS stands as a beacon of excellence, representing major food companies both nationally and internationally. With a comprehensive approach, TÜGİS addresses a myriad of challenges facing the food sector, ranging from industrial relations to quality control and food safety. Collaborating closely with government bodies such as the Ministry of Labour & Social Security and the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, TÜGİS strives to foster an environment conducive to growth and innovation. One of TÜGİS's notable initiatives is the annual World Food Day, held on October 16 in partnership with the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). This event serves as a platform to raise awareness about food-related issues and promote sustainable practices within the industry. As Turkey progresses towards full membership in the European Union (EU), TÜGİS remains at the forefront of efforts to align Turkish standards and regulations with EU principles. Through projects funded by the European Union such as Social Dialog and Vocational Training, TÜGİS is actively engaged in harmonizing industry practices with international standards. Moreover, TÜGİS plays a vital role in advocating for the interests of its members, ensuring that their voices are heard by government bodies and international organizations alike. TÜGİS continues to drive positive change within Istanbul's vibrant food and beverage industry.
