Artificial intelligence is the current technological revolution within the marketing industry. It’s not only changed how businesses engage with consumers, but how consumers interact with the Internet. According to HubSpot’s State of Marketing Report 2024, 64% of marketers are already integrating AI and automation in their strategies. Experts place the percentage of creative roles in marketing, especially senior and advanced positions, to rely on generative AI at 80% by 2026. One of the primary areas where AI is making a substantial impact is in content production. Marketers utilizing GenAI tools report an estimated savings of three hours of work per piece of content. 84% of these marketers claim increased efficiency in their content creation processes, with 82% stating that they are now able to produce “significantly more” content. Additionally, 56% report an improvement in content performance. Tools like ChatGPT and Google Gemini are increasingly popular among marketers, who use them to generate content ideas, create briefs, draft articles, and even produce complete pieces. Another crucial application of AI within the marketing industry is in data analytics. While data-driven marketing has been a long-standing trend, the methods through which marketers gather and analyze data are evolving due to AI advancements. AI-powered analytics allow marketers to identify emerging trends, gain deeper insights into target audiences, predict consumer behaviors, and optimize marketing campaigns with unprecedented speed and accuracy. Outside of AI, the biggest trend in marketing has been the continuous boom in video content as it offers high return on investment (ROI). As marketers aim to connect with digital-native generations, they are strategically positioning their content on platforms like TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram. HubSpot reports that short-form video is set to experience significant growth in 2024, with 53% of marketers planning to boost their investments in TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels.
